Leadership by Way of Ubuntu

Musical Ecology’s “Leadership By Way Of Ubuntu” is a unique retreat and immersion course based on active participation in a re-villaging environment. This is an immersive, multi-ethnic, inter-generational community in which the following practices are embodied, exemplified and masterclassed experientially:

• Clean food & practical cooking methods in harmony with African life

• Fire-tending & indaba culture

• Southern African Indigenous knowledge systems

• Elemental relationships

• Shared knowledge about the rites of passage (birth, initiation, death)

• Sound as medicine & vibrational therapy techniques

• Leadership by way of listening

• Re-villaging foundations

• Embodying a restoration of the role of “the artist” in society

All activities in the retreat are scheduled with spaciousness and are graced with a stretching of time.

Phakalane Retreat — A stunning nature-immersed spa and retreat venue on the slopes of Table Mountain near Hout Bay on the Cape Peninsula.
